APEC/ABAC: The Asia-Pacific Public/Private Partnership for Regional Prosperity

The National Center for APEC

Formed in 1989, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum or APEC , has 21 members, including all of the major economies of the region with some of the most dynamic and rapidly growing economies in the world.

APEC is unique in having institutionally mandated input from the private sector through the National Center for APEC (NCAPEC) . NCAPEC generates and stimulates U.S. private sector support for, and participation in APEC, with the objective of liberalizing trade and investment in the region.

The Asia Now eNews for July 2006 aims to help American businesses learn more about NCAPEC, the official link between U.S. business and APEC, and how it promotes economic growth and prosperity on both sides of the Pacific. Read more.
