Free Trade Agreements: CAFTA and Dominican Republic

CAFTA

The U.S. Congress approved the CAFTA-DR in July 2005, and President Bush signed it into law on August 2, 2005. The CAFTA-DR includes seven signatories: the United States, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. When the CAFTA-DR enters into force, the export zone created will be the United States' second largest free trade zone in Latin America after Mexico.
